Retention & Graduation Data

At Georgia State, we are concerned not only with recruiting promising students, but with supporting them from arrival through their completion of the M.A., as well as in their pursuit of post-degree goals. Our efforts can be seen in our retention and graduation rates, in our placement record, and in the number of our graduates who now hold teaching positions in philosophy elsewhere. But it can also be seen in our students who choose other career paths after receiving the M.A. We are committed to the current and future success of all our students

Individuals applying to do graduate work in philosophy should ask the departments to which they apply detailed questions about their retention and graduation rates.

All students admitted to our M.A. program are now admitted with assistantships. However, prior to 2008, we admitted substantial numbers of students without assistantships. Here we present data for all full-time students in the traditional and neurophilosophy tracks for the entering classes from 2008 and on.
